WHO
WE ARE
TEAM MEMBERS.

Colm Fanning
Hi I'm Colm Fanning Programme manager for Lagmore Youth Project. My role includes, supporting staff, strategic direction for the project, fundraising and helping with delivery of programmes. I got involved as I noticed a big demand for youth services in Lagmore and wanted to help meet the growing needs for the area. I have been supporting young people for over 22 years now across the Island of Ireland

Arón Hughes
Hi my name is Arón Hughes and I am a youth worker with Lagmore Youth Project. I currently work across all our weekly programmes but take lead particularly on our Seniors and Inclusion programmes focusing on leadership, training and inclusion. I got involved in LYP because I personally have seen the benefits of what youth work and informal education can do for young people, so by volunteering and working with LYP I can give back what had gained just a number of years ago - I absolutely love it. An interesting fact about me is that I used to take flying lessons ( I know, its random lol!!)

Chris Hanna
Hi, Im Chris and I am a Youth Support Worker with LYP throughout all of our weekly programmes.
Over the past year I have been leading on our Juniors programme, providing our members with fun, engaging and educational weekly sessions and trips!
I am looking foreword to leading our Intermediate programme and Junior Youth Forum over the coming months to make real change for the youth of Lagmore and Colin!
A fun fact about me? Im colourblind (don't be asking me for any outfit suggestions lol)

Daire Owens
My names Daire, I’m an assistant youth support worker in Lagmore youth project I’ve been involved with a number of projects over the past year including delivering sessions to the junior groups and engaging in the street through outreach I also was involved with taking a group on the summer reconnex project. I got involved with Lagmore youth project at the start of 2020 as youth work has always been something I’ve loved to get involved with and I love that Lagmore engages so much with the local community and the events they are able to put on. An interesting fact about me would have to be my shoe size I wear a size 14 shoe and it is incredibly hard to find shoes.

Sarah Campfield
My names Sarah, I am 19 years old and currently studying in university. I am a volunteer youth leader for the intermediates and our drop-in programme. I got involved because I love working with young people and helping them too develop and grow as they progress into different stages of their life.

Vincent McCullagh
Hi, I am Vincent and I got involved with volunteering at LYP when I engaged with staff on outreach in 2020. I got involved because I wanted to give back to my community and from seeing the great community work LYP do this suited me greatly. An interesting fact about me is I like going on long walks.

Tanya Smyth
My name is Tanya Smyth I currently volunteer as a youth worker for Lagmore Youth Project.
I work with the intermediate groups which is an excellent age to see young people transition from primary to secondary education and to steer youth work towards a play-formal setting. It’s amazing to see the young people from Lagmore enjoying the centre and its fantastic to give back to the community.
I got Interested in Lagmore Youth Project as I felt this part of the Colin area lacked resources and with its ever growing population especially the youth in lagmore, investment needed to happen.

Louise Rogers
Hi,
I am Louise Rogers, mum to 3 kids.
My role at LYP is Youth Leader.
I have volunteered in the Young womens programme and the Juniors Programme over the last year. I have had some amazing experiences through the programmes. I really enjoy getting to know all the young people. Everyone of them are stars 🌟 the highlight so far for me was our amazing summer scheme and the p7 residential.
I got involved in the project as firstly I have 3 kids myself and as a resident of Lagmore I believed there was a need for youth services in the area. When I heard about the project I offered to volunteer as it would be so good for the kids in the Colin area.
An interesting fact about me is I have a brown birth mark in my eye.

Mary Farrelly
I have recently become a volunteer with Lagmore Youth Project after seeing all the wonderful work they do for the local community on social media.
Whilst I haven’t been involved in much so far, the team have welcomed me with open arms and I hope to be in a position to volunteer more over the next few months, starting with detached outreach work on weekend evenings which I’m very much looking forward to.
When I’m not busy working the 9-5 in data analytics, I love to spend time with my daughter, love to train (calisthenics, gymnastics and pole dancing) and every so often go jump in the sea to wake myself up a bit! As a single mother from a young age, and overcoming all the challenges that that brings, I have a genuine interest in improving the lives of others in whatever small ways I can, and in empowering them to do the same for themselves.

Lauren McAreavey
Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m a part of the outreach team and work to make sure everyone is being safe on the streets. I have seen the benefit of the work organisations like Lagmore Youth Project do and have got involved to ensure young people in our area have great opportunities available to them locally!
An interesting fact about me… is it interesting that I’m a qualified youth worker? I got my degree in July 2020 (during the pandemic!!) and have a passion for young people’s rights and making sure they have a voice!

Jacq O'Neill

Shona Quigley
Hi I'm Shona, my main role is helping out where ever is needed (usually cooking or behind the scenes). I recently volunteered during summer schemes and breakfast club. The reason I volunteer is because many hands make light work and it's great fun.
